used in old radios and TVs to adjust speaker volume. The voltage it gives varies as the throttle body open and closes. In older radios as this part starts to fail you'd hear scratchiness and volume jumps when turning the knob. Same issue happens with a defective TPS, voltage jumps around due to engine vibration. What has me stumped is that this is a new part and should not be doing this unless the TPS was defective out of the box? All that comes to mind on the TPS but see the other response below about checking the TBs.
